When A Parking Lot Is So Much More

Interesting ruminations on turning parking lots from blight to blessing.  This is well beyond being the good guy and recycling that wayward soda can or bottle; reimagining these spaces as an asset and reducing the environmental impact will be a huge challenge until we ween ourselves off cars completely.  I’ve always looked at driving as a temporary situation, one to be remedied when the train gets faster or my bike more welcomed.  Making the current situation more palatable will go a long way toward changing it all together.  Personally, I am a huge fan of the solar canopy concept and undeveloping our asphalt spaces by adding more green and reducing the impact to runoff caused by any hard surfaces.
